MultiAgent Systems (MAS) consist of interacting elements, called agents. Agents are autonomous systems with different goals and motivations that are able to perform independent actions on the behalf of their users. To interact successfully, the agents have the ability to cooperate, coordinate, and negotiate with each other.

The class has focused on selected areas of intelligent information management and intelligent user interaction. The main topics are:
- Architectures for Intelligent Agents;
- Autonomous and Reactive Behavior;
- Agent Communication Languages;
- Ontologies;
- Agent Development Frameworks and Methodologies;
- Cooperative and Self-Interested Behavior;
- Agent Negotiation and Agent Societies;
- Others.
